Installing the App

The new app is a progressive web app, meaning that it can be installed on any operating system and act as a native app. To install the app:

iOS

1. Open Safari on your iOS device.
2. Go to https://myassets.fa.ufl.edu/myinventory/
3. Enter your UF credentials to access the site.
4. Tap the “Share” icon in Safari.
5. Select “Add to Home Screen” from the options.
6. Confirm the installation by tapping the “Add” button.

Android

1. Open Chrome.
   
2. Go to https://myassets.fa.ufl.edu/myinventory/
3. Enter your UF credentials to access the site.
4. Click on the three dots in the top right corner of your browser.
   
5. Scroll down on the dropdown menu and click "Add to home screen".
6. Confirm the installation by tapping the “Add” button.

The app should now appear in your app manager (android) and/or your home screen (iOS) and you can use it by clicking its icon. You will be prompted again for your UF credentials (you will not be prompted every time you open the app after this). Enter your credentials, approve the push notification and wait for the data to load. Once this is done, make sure to allow the app access to your camera when prompted. You are now ready to scan!
