COR AED Mapping

Purpose

This document contains information intended for users of COR (https://apps.ehs.ufl.edu/cor) to map AED devices in STARS (https://stars.facilities.ufl.edu). STARS is the central application for storing and maintaining geographically accurate asset data at UF, while COR is the system of record for AED metadata such as device information and room. Please ensure that the data in both systems is as accurate as possible.

If you do not have access to STARS, please request the UF_N_FPC_STARS_VIEW role from your Department Security Administrator (DSA).

Finding Unmapped Devices

The devices table in COR has a MAPPED column that indicates whether the device has already been mapped to a point in STARS.

Updating AED Location in STARS

Once you select a device from the devices list in COR, the device information card has a link(2) to the STARS floorplan viewer where you can place the device. You can also use this opportunity to upload a picture of the device (3). This image will help first responders locate the AED more accurately.

IMPORTANT: in order for the AED to be mapped to a room in a STARS floorplan, the Location(1) field must be correct in COR. Please ensure any asset you are trying to map has a valid location before going to STARS to map it.

Once in the STARS floor plan viewer, navigate to the Layers tab (1) and select the AEDs option(2) to display all of the AEDs on this. From here, click the plus button(3) to add your AED. Your next click will place the device on the map.

Once you have placed the device(1), you will be prompted to enter the device's serial ID(2) in order to identify it. Find the serial number of the device from COR in the dropdown menu to identify the AED. Please note that the device must be tied to this room via the Location field in COR in order to be findable. Once you have selected it, save the device with the check button(3).

The new asset will now appear on the floor plan in the location where you placed it. You can also upload a profile image for the device from STARS if you have not already done so from COR.
